Laodicea, Kaklik Cave & Honaz Waterfall Tour

If you want to spend a day away from the typical tourist trails, this tour is a perfect choice. We take you to Laodicea, a massive ancient city that often feels like you have the ruins all to yourself, and then head into the green landscapes of Honaz. At Puerto Travel, we love this itinerary because it combines early Christian history with refreshing natural stops like the Honaz Waterfall and the mysterious Kaklik Cave.

What to Expect:We start the morning at Laodicea, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. It was a wealthy textile center in the Roman era, and you can still see that luxury in its temples and theaters. After a dose of history, we cool off at the Honaz Waterfall, tucked away in a lush valley. We finish at Kaklik Cave, a unique underground cave filled with white travertine terraces—just like Pamukkale, but hidden beneath the earth.

Pick-up (09:30): We’ll meet you at your hotel to begin the day. It’s a short drive to our first stop, so you can enjoy a comfortable start to the morning in our private minivan.

Walking Through Laodicea: We spend the morning exploring this vast city. You’ll see the Temple of Zeus, the Grand Theater, and the Stadium. Your guide will explain why this was called the “Lukewarm Church” in the Bible and show you the well-preserved Roman water pipes that still cross the site.

Lunch Break: After the ruins, we’ll stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional meal and a bit of rest before we head into nature.

Honaz Waterfall: Next, we head toward the base of Mount Honaz. The waterfall is about 40 meters high and surrounded by greenery. It’s a peaceful spot to breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the sound of the cascading water.

Kaklik Cave: Our final stop is the “Underground Pamukkale.” We’ll walk along wooden pathways inside the cave to see the white, yellow, and red mineral terraces. The atmosphere inside is cool and slightly mysterious—a completely different experience from the cliffs outside.

Return (16:00): We’ll wrap up the day and drive you back to your hotel, getting you back in time to relax for the evening.
