Kaklik Cave, Keloglan Cave & Kibyra Ancient City Tour

If you want to escape the crowds of Pamukkale and see something most tourists miss, this is the tour for you. We head away from the main trails to explore two very different caves and an ancient city that feels like a private discovery. At Puerto Travel, we love this route because it shows the raw, untouched side of the region. You’ll be traveling in our comfortable minivans, making the drive between these hidden gems easy and relaxing.

What to Expect: First, we visit Kaklik Cave, which many locals call the “Underground Pamukkale.” It has the same white limestone terraces as the famous cliffs, but they are hidden inside a mysterious cave. Then, we head deeper into the mountains to Keloglan Cave, famous for its massive stalactites and local legends. We finish the day at Kibyra, an ancient city where you won’t have to fight for a photo. The highlight here is a stunning Medusa mosaic that is so well-preserved it looks like it was made yesterday.

Pick-up from Pamukkale: We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Pamukkale or Karahayit. Since we are heading “off the beaten path,” the drive is a great chance to see the rural side of the Turkish countryside.

Kaklik Cave (The Underground Wonder): Our first stop is Kaklik. As you walk down into the cave, you’ll see the water flowing over white terraces just like Pamukkale, but in a dark, cool environment. Keep an eye out for the ducks and turtles that live near the cave entrance!

Keloglan Cave: Next, we drive up toward the mountains to reach Keloglan. This cave is full of huge chambers and narrow passages filled with ancient stalactites and stalagmites. Your guide will share some of the local lore and legends connected to this subterranean world.

Kibyra Antique City: Our final stop is the ancient city of Kibyra. It’s a place that feels grand yet peaceful. You’ll explore the ancient theater and the Odeon, but the real star is the Medusa mosaic on the floor. It’s one of the most unique archaeological finds in the region.

Return Journey: After a day of exploring caves and ruins, we’ll drive you back to your hotel in Pamukkale, arriving in the late afternoon.
