Salda Lake, Lavander Village and Sagalassos City Tour

The “Turkish Maldives” and the Purple Fields of Anatolia

This tour is a dream for photographers and nature lovers. We take you from the white travertines of Pamukkale to the brilliant blue waters of Salda Lake, the fragrant purple fields of Lavender Village, and finally up into the clouds at Sagalassos. At Puerto Travel, we love this route because it feels less like a standard tour and more like a scenic road trip through the hidden corners of the Taurus Mountains.

What to Expect First, we visit Salda Lake, famous for its white mineral sands and turquoise water. It’s often called the “Turkish Maldives” and is even studied by NASA because its geology is similar to a lake on Mars. Then, we visit Kuyucak (Lavender Village), where the air smells incredible and the fields look like something out of a painting. We finish at Sagalassos, a Roman mountain city sitting high in the peaks. The highlight here is the Antonine Fountain—a massive ancient fountain that still has mountain water flowing through it today.

Morning Pick-up: We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Pamukkale or Karahayit. It’s a bit of a drive to reach the lake, so we make sure our minivans are stocked with cold water and are extra comfortable for the journey.
Salda Lake (The Turkish Maldives): Our first stop is Salda. You’ll have time to walk on the white sands and take photos of the different shades of blue. It’s a very peaceful spot and a great way to start the morning.
Lavender Village (Kuyucak): Next, we head to the heart of Turkey’s lavender production. You can walk through the purple fields, take photos with the village decorations, and try unique local treats like lavender ice cream or tea. (Note: The fields are in full bloom from July to mid-August).
Sagalassos Ancient City: We’ll drive up into the Taurus Mountains to reach Sagalassos. Because of its high altitude, the air is fresh, and the views are panoramic. You’ll explore the ancient theater and the incredible Antonine Fountain, which is still functional after thousands of years.
Return or Forward Transfer: After the tour, we’ll drive you back to your hotel in Pamukkale. However, since this tour heads east, many guests choose to continue on to Antalya or Cappadocia from here. If you need a forward transfer, just let us know at Puerto Travel so we can organize your luggage and logistics.
