Ephesus Tour Details
Ephesus or Efes is the most famous ancient site in Turkey and during its Greek era was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. The city became famous for its Artemis Temple, completed in 550 BC and is considered one of the wonders of the ancient world. Ephesus was also one of the seven churches of Asia as cited in the book of revelations, Showing just how important and influential this city was.
The site also houses a large gladiators graveyard as well as many other incredible ruins, its easy to see why Ephesus is so popular. Other great sites include the Library of Celsus, The Odeon, Temple of Hadrian, Agora, The Fountain of Trajan and more. Ephesus was held as a very sacred place for many Christians due to its close ties with St John, Virgin Mary and St John the Evangelist. Virgin Mary’s House is another very popular attraction to visit and is located on Bulbul Mountain.
Ephesus Tour Program
- You wil be picked up from your hotel at about 09:00 AM and the Ephesus tour starts at 09:30 AM. After visiting several historic spots inside the ruins, we will have a lunch in a local restaurant.
- We will visit Virgin Mary’s House and St. John Museum in Selcuk in the afternoon.
- Ephesus tour ends at about 17:00. After the tour you will be taken back to your hotel.
